The Back Story to Wordless Wednesday #19
For this week’s Wordless Wednesday post, I was thinking about putting up some really nice pictures I took of an old door at one of the missions here in San Antonio.
I didn’t because I knew if I went 2 weeks in a row with no Cee pics, Proud Grandpa might throw a protest.
As he is one of my biggest supporters, I instead took the camera around with me and Cee on our Tuesday afternoon walk. The weather is so pleasant here, that it’s hard to stay cooped up in the apt. But on the other hand, going outside means trying to keep Cee out of streets, parking lots, and a drainage ditch – not an easy task.
We’re all really looking forward to the day that we have a yard.
We did a little rock climbing, (sort of)…And as we walked, Cee found many extra special leaves. He’d hold one in each hand, then run and give them to me. I carried them around with us, so he’d know that I thought they were special too. I’m glad I did because he came back to check if I had them later. He also found this guy:
What a sweet and timid dog this was! We were walking past this porch, when suddenly Cee veered off behind the AC unit. I saw the wire and thought, “Huh, it’s like Caleb can see a dog in there, but I don’t here the usual yippity-yap chihuahua sounds, I wonder what he’s looking at.” (Almost every dog in our complex is a chihuahua, and the owners put up this extra wire to keep the dogs safe as many a yippity-yap has fallen to its doom around here.)
I come up behind Cee, who’s squealing happily and see this dog just barely peeking out the door at us. Cee squealed and pointed and said, “Da da,” like he was trying to say to me, “See Mom, there is a dog in there.”
I didn’t want to be caught hiding out behind unknown neighbor’s AC units, so I grabbed Caleb to take him back to the main path, and to where he could have a better view of the doggie. Boy was he mad! He didn’t want to be moved from that spot for anything, but once I got him around to the front, he saw that the dog was lined up even better for him to gawk at and he settled right back down.
This kid loves dogs. Thank goodness I live in a walk by doggie zoo and don’t have to get one of our own (yet).
The peeking dog can be found HERE.
