The Improv Artist at Work: Food Pictures
I recently read that when taking food pictures it’s best to use natural light. Natural light for me is a challenge since my kitchen shares a wall with our neighbors and has no windows, but I still wanted to give it a chance, and the results have been well worth the little walk out to my patio.
(I asked Jay to bring the camera to me since my hands were covered in hot pads – he thought it would be funny to take a pic of me setting up my subject.)
I took the camera from Jay, went in for a close-up and got:
I can’t stress enough the importance of setting the camera for a daylight exposure when using daylight… this looks like it was taken on the bottom of a pool!
A quick change in settings and, voila, great pictures!
