Where’s the Rag? Game
This is a new game that Cee and I came up with yesterday to talk about body parts. It’s very simple and almost guarenteed to get a few giggles (especially when played fast).
I had a clean rag that I put on him in different places and asked, “Where’s the rag?” When he grabbed for it, I’d say, “The rag is on your head, neck, foot, back, etc.”
This game also works great in the tub with a wet rag so that it sticks to the different parts.
Thursday Reveal #18
Wordless Wednesday #18 was taken on the same photo shoot that I mentioned last week. This guy came as an extra and was really into his part. He put so much into his outfit and character that very little editing was needed (all I did was crop it and mess with the contrast a bit).
As Halloween approaches, I want you to keep this in mind as you take your kiddos pics – yes, get the one of them lined up with their baskets ready, but try to get some cool ones of them in character too. If your little boy is Spiderman have him jump off the last step of the porch (safely of course) and get him flying through the air. If your little girl is Dorothy, have her close her eyes and tap her heels together. Character pics will highlight each child, make them feel special, and will bring back great memories in the years to come.
The description that I was thinking of was: “I can’t believe that the Twilight people said that I was too authentic? How can a real vampire be TOO authentic?”
My top contributions were:
1 – Jay with (basically what the Twilight people would have said, so he had to get the top spot): “Seriously, just because you are a vampire doesn’t mean you have to wear clothes from the 17th century.”
2 – Proud Grandpa with: Who ate the last cookie?!!!! (Good one Dad, I almost peed my pants.)
3 – Sara N with: Vampire’s first victim of the night, an innocent cameraman trying to snap a picture for her Wordless Wednesday. (This one got a big laugh too – oh the price I pay to keep this site interesting!)
Wordless Wednesday #18
As always with Wordless Wednesday, please leave a comment with the title or description that you would give this picture. On Thursday I’ll reveal the name I chose as well as the top 3 contributions.
Old MacDonald (revamped and unplugged)
In honor of Cee learning to sing E I E I Oh, I’m sharing some of my silly takes on the classic song…
Old MacDonald had a farm,
E I E I Oh
And on his farm he had a cow,
E I E I Oh
With a moo-moo here and a moo-moo there
Here a moo, there a moo, everywhere a moo-moo
Old MacDonald went to Hawaii
E I E I Oh
(Where else would you see muumuus everywhere?)
Old MacDonald had a farm,
E I E I Oh
And on his farm he had a sheep,
E I E I Oh
With a baa-baa here and a baa-baa there
Here a baa, there a baa, everywhere a baa-baa
Old MacDonald visited Ebenezer Scrooge
E I E I Oh
(Who else says bah all the time?)
Old MacDonald had a farm,
E I E I Oh
And on his farm he had a horse,
E I E I Oh
With a neigh-neigh here and a neigh-neigh there
Here a neigh, there a neigh, everywhere a neigh-neigh
Old MacDonald accidentally walked in on a National Association of Pessimists meeting
E I E I Oh
(What a bunch of nay-sayers!)
Thursday Reveal #17 with Ghostly Photo Challenge
Wordless Wednesday #17 was taken about a year ago (wow, a lot can change in a year!) in the local cemetery of our college town. I went with a friend for a amateur photographer’s night and had a great time with their models as well as being my own subject. This pic was taken on the night setting, on a tripod, and with a timer. During the long exposure I made exaggerated movements with my body to make the ghost effect, then later I edited in the spooky colors.
If you want to take the challenge and try a shot like this there’s a few tips to remember:
- DON’T use flash – that will shorten your exposure right back down and you’ll get a frozen picture. I did this shot near a street lamp and it worked out well for long shadows.
- DO use a tripod – even slight pulses in your hands will disturb the long exposure making the whole pic fuzzy.
- USE the environment, having the tree and tombstone near me showed that while the pic was solid, I was moving.
- MOVE slowly and deliberately – if you move too fast you’ll disappear, move to slow and you’re just a blob. Try lots of motions and HAVE FUN!
I’d love to see how it goes if anyone decides to take the challenge!
The title I chose: The Ghost in my Past
My top contributions this week were:
- JoAnn S. with: Witches riding through the sky,
On their broomsticks way up high,
Black cats howl as they go by,
For this is Halloween! - Javann with: Ghost in the Graveyard
- Amaree with: In the “dead center” of town!
