Thursday Reveal #22 (Though 1 Day Late)
Thanks to everyone for being so patient while I took yesterday off. Since Thanksgiving is the most important Thursday of the year, I thought I’d let the post slide till Friday (I’m sure you had more important things to do then check back here anyway).
Wordless Wednesday #22 was a little different this week. Rather than being a pic I took, it’s a pic taken by the auto cameras on the Steel Eel at Sea World. The colors were really flat, so I did do a little tweaking to it, but nothing worth mentioning. What I will say is that when Jay saw the look on my face, he had to buy it (he NEVER buys these) and he declared that it needed to be a Wordless Wednesday pic.
It was embarrassing, but I did it for you Honey.
My description for this pic goes something like this: “Oh no, I just saw the flash – I can’t believe I was doing that with my face. This is going to be embarrassing.”
Since it’s Thanksgiving Weekend, I want to do a little something different for my faithful commenters. Instead of doing a top 3 this week, I’m giving everyone a reward according to their suggestion. I’m grateful for you guys!
For sounding most like something I’d actually say, Sara N with: “Oh my goodness! That’s windtastic!”
For writing something I was thinking since I first saw this picture, Jay with: “The girl behind Kim looks like she is talking on an invisible cell phone.”
For being the most poetic, Proud Grandpa with: The Agony and the Ecstasy
For being the most philosophical, Bryan with: Mystery solved: pure joy and pure terror CAN co-exist.
For doing the best to point out the real emotion of the pic (did I mention the guy sitting behind Jay didn’t stop cursing the WHOLE ride) and that there really must be something wrong with Jay to look that happy while riding a death machine, Mama D with: “Seriously! Jay has been superimposed into this picture! No one else is happy in this picture! How can he be? His picture was put over the top of a little guy who is hunched down and hanging on for dear life! (with his eyes closed!)”
Wordless Wednesday #22
As always with Wordless Wednesday, please leave a comment with the title or description that you would give this picture. On Thursday I’ll reveal the name I chose as well as the top 3 contributions.
Wanted Poster and Photo Challenge
I’ve gotten a lot of comments from friends and family about the wanted poster that I made for Cee, so let’s talk about it:
All parents have these pics – the ones you hate because they just don’t seem like your REAL son or daughter. The challenge is to find those pictures and with a little imagination turn then from something you don’t like to a treasure.
To make my wanted poster I used picnik.com:
- Using the stickers tab I added rectangular shapes to the top and bottom portions of the picture. When working with stickers, play close attention as you chose your colors, they don’t save so if they need to match you have to find the color in the palate all over again.
- Using the Text function I added the words by section – first WANTED in its font, then the underwriting in a new font, and so on till the picture was filled.
- Lastly I edited the actual picture to sepia, then used orton-ish with no bloom over the top to add shadows and give an older photo feel. I should mention that the editing tools don’t work on the stickers, text, or added images.
I also thought about doing a mug shot, adding an evil mustache, thought bubbles, and so on. Be creative with this challenge and have fun. If anyone wants to participate and share what they make, I’d love to put your results up on the Your Tales page.
Thursday Reveal #21
Wordless Wednesday #21 was taken in Fredericksburg, TX. Using picnik.com I enhanced the contrast, used Lomo-ish without blur around the edges to frame the pic, put sepia over the top to make the picture more aged to match the cowboy theme, then added Vignette, slightly faded, to strength the frame.
I call this simply, “Whooooa!” (Whoa is one of Cee’s favorite words so far.)
My top contributors this week were:
1 – Kendra with: “Whoa! This doesn’t look like daddy……”
2 – Sara with: “Woh there Pony!”
3 – Proud Grandpa with: “No stirrups, no reins and a rubber band for a lasso? What kind of a two-bit outfit is this?!”

KimTunes: Angel Baby
This is a little ditty that I sang to Cee this week. We’ve been having a hard week with all of the sad bonks around here, so I tucked him in my arms, sang this song, and he picked his nose. Almost, it was almost a very tender moment. : )
Angel Baby,
To me you are a special kind of dude,
Angel Baby,
I really like your attitude,
Angel Baby,
Be my boopin’ baby always!
Angel Baby,
Life with you could be so sweet,
Angel Baby,
I love you from your head to your feet,
Angel Baby,
Be my sweetie baby always!
