Thursday Reveal #20
Wordless Wednesday #20 was shot using a daylight setting with no flash which allowed me to capture partial motion. I used picnik.com to heighten the contrast and harden the light (using the Orton-ish tool with no bloom and slightly faded).
As a side note – many members of my family stick their tongues out when concentrating. It’s a funny little trait that Cee has inherited, so I will give Jay props for mentioning that in his suggestion, but I’m also going to take him out of the running since he had insider info. Love you Honey.
My title: “Okay, con.cen.trate, con.cen.trate…”
The top three contributions for the week were:
1- Proud Grandpa with: “Boy, this is a real tongue twister!”
2- Mama D with: “It’s in, it’s in, it’s… whoops, missed it again! Blaahmm. How did Mom do this?”
3- Sara N with: “Now if I could just get my feet through these here holes…”

As always with Wordless Wednesday, please leave a comment with the title or description that you would give this picture. On Thursday I’ll reveal the name I chose as well as the top 3 contributions.
Old Door Photo Series
Here are those door shots that I liked so much, but that I couldn’t use for Wordless Wednesday under penalty of Grandparent boycott. I like how the digital macro captures the agedness of the subject. I think these also are great examples of what the Orton-ish tool can do for colors, when the bloom is eliminated.

Thursday Reveal #19
Cee has such tunnel vision when it comes to dogs that I really wanted to emphasize the hidden dog in this picture (for the background story on that click HERE). I used picnik.com* to make a focal black and white, so that the dog was the only thing actually colored, but then used the fade slide to bring muted color back into the rest of the shot. I also used Orton-ish with no bloom to give the picture a “Hardlight” effect.
The title that I chose for this picture was: The Neighborhood Zoo
My top contributions for the week (and I had a LOT of good ones so I took the three that made me laugh the hardest):
1 – Jay with: Owner: It’s ok boy, that human won’t bite you. You can go out and look at him. Just don’t get to close the fence.
2 – Terri with: “Why is the doggie in jail,or is it me?”
3 – Proud Grandpa with: How do you say “Peek-a-boo, I see you” in dog language?
Thanks to everyone who played along, and I hope you’ll be back for next week!
*Picnik doesn’t compensate me in any way for mentioning them on this blog. I just love the free service that they offer.
