KimTunes: Angel Baby
This is a little ditty that I sang to Cee this week. We’ve been having a hard week with all of the sad bonks around here, so I tucked him in my arms, sang this song, and he picked his nose. Almost, it was almost a very tender moment. : )
Angel Baby,
To me you are a special kind of dude,
Angel Baby,
I really like your attitude,
Angel Baby,
Be my boopin’ baby always!
Angel Baby,
Life with you could be so sweet,
Angel Baby,
I love you from your head to your feet,
Angel Baby,
Be my sweetie baby always!
Old MacDonald (revamped and unplugged)
In honor of Cee learning to sing E I E I Oh, I’m sharing some of my silly takes on the classic song…
Old MacDonald had a farm,
E I E I Oh
And on his farm he had a cow,
E I E I Oh
With a moo-moo here and a moo-moo there
Here a moo, there a moo, everywhere a moo-moo
Old MacDonald went to Hawaii
E I E I Oh
(Where else would you see muumuus everywhere?)
Old MacDonald had a farm,
E I E I Oh
And on his farm he had a sheep,
E I E I Oh
With a baa-baa here and a baa-baa there
Here a baa, there a baa, everywhere a baa-baa
Old MacDonald visited Ebenezer Scrooge
E I E I Oh
(Who else says bah all the time?)
Old MacDonald had a farm,
E I E I Oh
And on his farm he had a horse,
E I E I Oh
With a neigh-neigh here and a neigh-neigh there
Here a neigh, there a neigh, everywhere a neigh-neigh
Old MacDonald accidentally walked in on a National Association of Pessimists meeting
E I E I Oh
(What a bunch of nay-sayers!)
The Song Inspired by This Evening’s Events: Bring Back my Bug to Me
[Set to the music of My Bonnie Lies Over the Ocean]
My doodlebug lies over the office
My doodlebug lies over the floor
My doodlebug lies pushing his stroller
Oh doodlebug you’re not a bore.
Bring back, bring back,
oh bring back my bug to me to me
Bring back bring back,
oh bring back my bug to me.
My doodlebug lies over the window sill
The neighbors, his mischief can’t miss,
My doodlebug lies over the window sill
To give the pane a French kiss.
Bring back, bring back,
oh bring back the Windex to me to me
Bring back bring back,
oh bring back the Windex to me.
Cee’s Good Morning Song
This song is set to the tune of Good Mornin’ from Singing in the Rain. Dancing is not required, but encouraged whenever possible. : )
Good Morning, good morning
You’ve slept the whole night through
Good morning, good morning to you!
Good morning, little doodlebug
Mommy loves you oh so much
Good morning, good morning to you!
Good morning good morning
Little Buddy you’re the best
Good morning good morning, little guy!
No, the verses don’t always rhythm, and sometimes they get downright silly, but Cee sure loves his song and it gets him really excited in the mornings.
Let Him Play, Let Him Play, Let Him Play!
I purposefully named this section the Improv Artist, because I wanted it to be open to any motherly instant-art. Something that Cee is used to from me is hearing lots of made up songs. I’m no singing sensation, but it’s something that I’ve loved to do since I was a little girl – I blame watching way too many Disney movies.
Tonight, after a long day of errands and adventures, Jay and I were pooped and Cee was wired. This song was inspired by our situation and is set to the tune of Let it Snow.
Oh the darkness outside is creeping
But little Cee is far from sleeping.
Since Mom and Dad are pooped anyway,
Let him play, let him play, let him play.
When we finally kiss goodnight
Oh I hate putting you to bed
‘Cuz you won’t let me hold you tight
You wiggle and giggle instead!
Oh our patience is slowly dying,
And my son, please stop your whining.
Just as long as in the crib you stay -
Let him play, let him play, let him play!
